Questions people ask
Why does my phone show 5G but feel slow?
The icon often means a 5G cell is available rather than in use, and low‑band 5G performs much like good LTE. Band and bandwidth matter more than the generation, which is why the app reports the band rather than just the icon.
What is the difference between NSA and SA?
On non‑standalone 5G your phone keeps a 4G connection at all times and adds a 5G carrier on top. Standalone drops the 4G anchor entirely. The app tells you which you are on right now — almost nothing else on the phone does.
My phone is sold as 5G but never gets it. Why?
Usually bands. A handset built for another region can be fully 5G capable and still lack the bands your carrier uses. The app lists the bands your device supports so you can compare.
Can the app enable 5G?
No. It reports what the hardware, the SIM and the network allow. Where 5G is not enabled, no app can switch it on from the handset side.
Does it work without a connection?
Yes for the device checks. Readings are taken from the phone itself; a connection is only needed for ads.
Does it drain the battery?
No. It reads state when you open it and does not run in the background.
