What we build, and why these
Our apps come out of problems we had ourselves rather than a gap on a spreadsheet. The two network utilities exist because Android knows a great deal about what your phone and carrier are doing and surfaces almost none of it — whether VoLTE is genuinely available, whether IMS has registered, whether the 5G icon means standalone 5G or a marketing decision.
That information is readable through Android's telephony APIs, but it is scattered across several of them, implemented inconsistently between manufacturers, and in places plainly wrong on particular builds. Presenting it accurately is most of the work.
How they are built
All free, with no account to create and no subscription. They are funded by advertising, kept to a density we would tolerate ourselves. Nothing is gated behind a purchase, and none of them collect personal information they do not need — each app's privacy policy sets out exactly what it reads and why.
They work offline wherever the underlying task allows it. A diagnostic tool that needed a working connection to explain why your connection is broken would be a poor joke, so both network utilities read device state locally and report it without contacting a server.
If you want the reasoning behind what these apps report, our guides explain it in full, and are written to be useful whether or not you install anything.
